Indonesian Anti-Corruption Agency Raids Bank Indonesia Office in CSR Corruption Case

 

Jakarta, Indonesia - December 17, 2024 - The Indonesian Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) conducted a raid on the Bank Indonesia (BI) office on Monday night, December 16, 2024, in connection with an ongoing investigation into alleged corruption involving corporate social responsibility (CSR) funds.

 

"It is true, there was a search operation last night by investigators at the BI office," said Tessa, a spokesperson for the KPK, confirming the raid.

 

Separately, Acting KPK Chairman Nawawi Pomolango stated that he was awaiting updates from investigators regarding the raid. "I haven't been updated by the Director of Investigation. There will be a press conference, you can ask them directly," said Nawawi.

 

The KPK is investigating allegations of corruption in the use of CSR funds at both BI and the Financial Services Authority (OJK).

 

KPK Director of Investigation Asep Guntur Rahayu confirmed that the investigation into alleged CSR corruption has entered the investigation phase. "The KPK is currently handling a case of alleged corruption related to the use of CSR funds from BI and OJK in 2023," said Asep in Bogor on Friday, September 13, 2024.

 

Despite entering the investigation phase, the KPK has not yet revealed the identities of any suspects or the specific details of the alleged corruption related to the use of CSR funds at BI and OJK.
